National French Fry Day is almost here. Typically, the fried spud celebration falls on July 13, but organizers changed this year’s date to Friday, July 14, — emphasis on the “Fry Day.”
Depending on the fast food chain, you might find fry specials on either day — or even all the way through the weekend.
11 Chains Offering Free Fries on National French Fry Day
We’ve put together some of the best deals for you so you can get multiple orders of fries all throughout the day and the weekend.
McDonald’s
We can’t talk about fries without talking about McDonald’s, and the supremely popular fast food chain is leading the way when it comes to free fries on National French Fry Day.
On Thursday, you can get fries of any size for free — no purchase required — through the app. But that’s not all!
You can receive a free order of large fries when you make at least a $1 purchase through the McDonald’s app and join the rewards program. Plus, every Friday for the rest of 2023, you can score a free medium fries with a minimum $1 order through the app.

Wendy’s
From July 13 through July 16, you can grab fries of any size from Wendy’s if you are a rewards member and you order through the app or scan at the restaurant. Even better, you can get free seasoned potatoes during breakfast.

White Castle
The mini-burger chain is getting in on the act for National French Fry Day offering a buy-one. get-one free small fries coupon that is usable only on Thursday, July 13.

Checkers & Rally’s
These chains are known for their outstanding fries, and they are celebrating by offering free extra large (!) fries from July 14 to July 16. Like most of these deals, you’ll also need to use the app and be a rewards member.
These chains will continue the celebration by offering fries of any size for just $1 from July 24 through Aug. 6 at participating locations.

Heinz and Uber Eats
“Fries aren’t fries without Heinz,” says the famous ketchup company. That’s why they’ve partnered with Uber Eats to offer $5.70 off any July 13 orders that include french fries.
Users can look for participating restaurants in the app or an email from Uber Eats. Once you add fries to your order, you’ll automatically receive the discount.
Red Robin
Every day is National French Fry Day at the famous burger joint. Celebrate by taking advantage of their free, bottomless refills of steak fries, garlic fries, sweet potato fries, kettle chips, broccoli or side salad when you purchase a burger or entree.

Burger King
If you’re a member of Burger King’s rewards program, you can get free fries (any size) with any purchase in the app or on their website. The offer is good once a week until Dec. 31, 2023.

Smashburger
This burger chain is also in on the fry day specials. All you need to do is use the code “FRIES” when you order online and you’ll receive a free regular size fry. This deal is valid only on July 13.

Del Taco
If you’ve ever wanted a side of fries with your burrito, Del Taco is your spot. Through July 16, the chain is offering free medium fries with any $3 purchase.
Just for kicks, you can also score several other deals this week, including a free mini shake with a $3 purchase and a BOGO stuffed quesadilla taco.

Burger21
Though it isn’t a national chain, Burger21 is still serving up free fries to customers in Florida with at least one restaurant in seven other states.
You know the drill: Use the Patty Perks app, buy a burger and the free fries are yours but only on July 13.
Hardees and Carl’s Jr.
These chains want to keep the french fry celebration going all year long. If you are a rewards member and purchase fries through the app or online July 13, you’ll get a free small fry every day for the rest of the year with a $1 minimum purchase.
