March 2025 Class Action Settlements Involve Fandango, loanDepot and United Dominion Realty
Ten settlements are accepting claims in March, allowing consumers to recover compensation for false advertising, fees, data breaches and more.
$31.9M Smitty’s Supply and CAM2 tractor hydraulic fluid class action settlement
Smitty’s Supply and Cam2 International agreed to pay $31.9 million to resolve a class action alleging its tractor hydraulic fluids do not meet manufacturing specifications.
The settlement benefits consumers who purchased Super S Super Trac 303 Tractor Hydraulic Fluid, Super S 303 Tractor Hydraulic Fluid, CAM2 ProMax 303 Tractor Hydraulic Oil or CAM2 303 Tractor Hydraulic Oil since Dec. 1, 2013. Consumers who purchased Super S Super Trac 303 Tractor Hydraulic Fluid in Missouri are excluded from the settlement.
According to the class action lawsuit, the hydraulic fluid failed to meet 303 tetrahydrofuran specifications despite labeling and advertising that referenced these specifications. Consumers claim the hydraulic fluid damaged their machinery.
The deadline to file a claim with the settlement is March 1, 2025.

$3M United Dominion Realty late fees class action settlement
United Dominion Realty agreed to a $3 million settlement to resolve claims it charged unlawful late fees to its California tenants. These fees were allegedly as high as $100 and reportedly violated California state laws.
The United Dominion Realty settlement benefits California residential tenants who were charged or paid one or more late fees to United Dominion Realty between Aug. 12, 2017, and Oct. 24, 2024.
The deadline to file a claim with the settlement is March 3, 2025.
$1.025M loanDepot EFTA class action settlement
LoanDepot agreed to pay $1.025 million to resolve claims it violated the Electronic Funds Transfer Act by taking funds from consumer accounts without written authorization.
The settlement benefits individuals whose bank accounts loanDepot debited on a recurring basis between Sept. 21, 2021, and Oct. 6, 2023, without first receiving a copy of the authorization to make a preauthorized electronic fund transfer.
Consumers claim loanDepot repeatedly debited their accounts without first obtaining written authorization. These withdrawals allegedly violated the EFTA, which requires businesses to have clear authorization before debiting accounts.
The deadline to file a claim with the settlement is March 3, 2025.

$1.05M APi overtime class action settlement
APi agreed to a $1.05 million settlement to resolve claims it failed to pay overtime wages owed to its Pennsylvania workers.
The settlement benefits non-exempt APi employees who worked at the Shell Cracker Plant in Monaca, Pennsylvania, between Nov. 3, 2018, and Nov. 27, 2022.
APi allegedly failed to compensate workers for mandatory pre- and post-shift work that should have been paid at overtime rates. According to the class action lawsuit, this failure to pay overtime wages violated the Pennsylvania Minimum Wage Act.
The deadline to file a claim with the settlement is March 6, 2025.
$5M La Pura, Konnektive false ad class action settlement
Konnektive agreed to pay $5 million to resolve claims it falsely advertised La Pura cosmetics as natural and pure.
The settlement benefits consumers who purchased La Pura products advertised as natural and pure between June 12, 2016, and Oct. 10, 2024.
Despite advertising claims about the cosmetics’ purity and natural ingredients, La Pura products allegedly use synthetic ingredients such as parabens and sulfates. Consumers say the company deceived them into making purchases or paying higher prices based on the false claims.
The deadline to file a claim with the settlement is March 8, 2025.
Mercer University data breach class action settlement
Mercer University agreed to a class action lawsuit to resolve claims it failed to protect students and faculty from a 2023 data breach.
The settlement benefits individuals who received a data breach notification warning them their information may have been compromised in the Mercer University data breach from Feb. 12-24, 2023.
The data breach allegedly compromised sensitive information, such as Social Security numbers, putting both students and faculty at risk for fraud or identity theft. Plaintiffs in the class action lawsuit argue Mercer University could have done more to protect their data and prevent the breach.
The deadline to file a claim with the settlement is March 18, 2025.
$1.25M St. Stephen’s Cemetery class action settlement
St. Stephen’s Cemetery agreed to pay $1.25 million to resolve claims they lost burial records and buried bodies in the wrong plots.
The settlement benefits individuals who purchased a burial plot or services from St. Stephen’s Cemetery between Jan. 1, 1992, and Feb. 24, 2017, or those who are the next of kin or surviving spouse of a person who purchased these services during the class period.
According to the class action lawsuit, St. Stephen’s failed to honor its promises to properly bury consumers’ loved ones and violated Kentucky law. In addition to burying the deceased in the wrong places, St. Stephen’s allegedly lost burial records.
The deadline to file a claim with the settlement will be determined during the final approval hearing on March 24, 2025.

The District of Columbia’s Health Benefit Exchange Authority agreed to a $1.45 million settlement to resolve claims it failed to prevent a 2023 data breach.
The settlement benefits individuals who received a data breach notification letter from the District of Columbia’s Health Benefit Exchange Authority informing them their private information was or may have been compromised in a data breach around March 2023.
The data breach reportedly compromised the information of 170,000 individuals, including their Social Security numbers and contact information. Plaintiffs in the data breach class action lawsuit argue the health authority should have implemented reasonable cybersecurity measures to protect consumer information.
The deadline to file a claim with the settlement is March 28, 2025.
$9M Fandango ticket fee class action settlement
Fandango agreed to pay $9 million to resolve claims it failed to disclose ticket fees when selling movie tickets in New York.
The settlement benefits consumers who paid a convenience fee to purchase electronic tickets to any movie in any New York theater through any Fandango online platform between Aug. 29, 2022, and March 11, 2024.
According to the class action lawsuit, Fandango violated New York’s Arts and Cultural Affairs Law by failing to disclose convenience fees when selling movie tickets online. Consumers claim they did not anticipate these fees and were forced to pay more than expected for their movie tickets.
The deadline to file a claim with the settlement is March 31, 2025.

$4.4M Streamlabs Pro auto renewal class action settlement
Streamlabs agreed to a $4.4 million settlement to resolve allegations it enrolled consumers in automatic subscriptions to Streamlabs Pro services without consent.
The settlement benefits consumers enrolled in a Streamlabs Pro automatic renewal subscription after adding a GIF or effect to their donation who were then billed a monthly fee for the subscription between March 3, 2018, and May 17, 2022.
Plaintiffs in the case claim that they were under the impression they were making a one-time payment to use these features and not enrolling in a monthly subscription.
The deadline to file a claim with the settlement is March 31, 2025.
