Budgeting for Thanksgiving dinner later this month? You might want to shop at Aldi. Aldi is offering all its traditional Thanksgiving foods for below 2019 prices.

“Every day at ALDI, we are focused on finding ways to deliver the lowest possible prices for our customers – and this Thanksgiving is no different,” Jason Hart, Aldi CEO said in a statement. “With 25% of U.S households now shopping ALDI, we know grocery prices are still top of mind for customers. We worked hard this Thanksgiving to deliver the best value and quality products so everyone can enjoy a traditional meal with family and friends without having to scale back.”

Aldi’s promotion comes as inflation cools overall. Still, grocery prices are up 50% across for hundreds of items compared to 2019.

The grocer’s Thanksgiving deals run now through Nov. 27, meaning you can get your discount food items for an early Friendsgiving and a traditional Thanksgiving dinner on Nov. 28.

How to Get the Thanksgiving Discount at Aldi

Aldi’s press release didn’t list out every single food item that would qualify for the Thanksgiving promotion. However, with the discounts, a meal for 10 comes in at $47. That includes a Butterball turkey, gravy, rolls, mac and cheese, stuffing and the ingredients for cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes, sweet potato casserole, green bean casserole and pumpkin pie.

Walmart, too? Bring on the Thanksgiving Price Wars

Not to be outdone, Walmart, which is the largest food retailer in the US, also announced a Thanksgiving price drop.

Walmart’s promotion is a little different from Aldi’s: While Aldi is promising pre-2019 prices, Walmart is advertising a Thanksgiving meal for less than $7 per person.

Still, that means major discounts on Thanksgiving hallmarks like ham and turkey. In fact, Walmart turkeys start at 88 cents a pound.

Walmart’s promotion lasts nearly a whole month longer than Aldi’s. It’s good through Dec. 24, so head to Walmart for Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner.
